The Department of Psychiatry has been functioning for 40 years and its staff comprises psychiatrists that are trained at some of the premium institutes in the world such as the Johns Hopkins medical institutions, Mayo Clinic and Harvard medical institutions.
In 1989, Dr. Rajesh Parikh started India’s first Neuropsychiatry Clinic, which, within a year, became the busiest psychiatry clinic in a private hospital in the country and was counted among the top three clinics in the hospital.

Dr. Rajesh Parikh, M.D., D.P.M., Dip.N.B.E. is the Director of Medical Research and Hon.
Neuropsychiatrist at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre.
He trained at the K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore. He has over 150 publications in journals such as Lancet, American Journal of Psychiatry, British Journal of Psychiatry, Archives of General Psychiatry, Archives of Neurology and Stroke and has written 20 book chapters.
He has extensive research experience across the world in basic and clinical research having participated in over 75 research projects.
He has been invited to lecture at the Harvard Medical School, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and the Institute for Research in Neuroscience and Neuropsychiatry in France.
Dr. Parikh has had a distinguished academic record with several awards including the Bombay Psychiatry Society President’s Award thrice and the Tilak Venkoba Rao Award of the Indian Psychiatry Society.
He has been a University rank holder in every exam in psychiatry and stood first All-India in the Dip. N.B.E. examination.
He has won over 200 awards in activities as diverse as photography, painting, quizzing, writing and debating.
